Pakistan – In Need of Water
Around 40% of Pakistan’s population still does not have stable access to clean drinking water. Not having water affects the health of hundreds of communities and their livelihoods. Entire communities are at risk of malnutrition and poor sanitation, which can sometimes be fatal.
Ramadan is the best time for you to donate towards our water projects. Your donations help us give fellow Muslim their basic human right to water.

The Impact of Your Donations
A hand water pump can benefit up to 25 people and a water well aids around 200 individuals in an entire community.
Reliable access to clean water makes sustainable futures for entire communities possible. Children can focus on their education and adults on making a living instead of spending time and energy on collecting water from miles away.
The water wells and hand pumps you donated have changed lives:
- Over 200,000 beneficiaries now have clean water for drinking, cooking, washing, watering of crops, and hydrating their animals.
- Women and children no longer have to walk miles to fetch water, which means children are able to pursue their education, and women have more time to work and take care of their families.
- Sanitation and hygiene have improved substantially – people no longer have to rely on dirty and contaminated water to survive. Water-borne diseases and incidences of dehydration have significantly reduced too.

Kareem Baksh and his family of eight have not had access to clean water since the well near their house dried up almost six years ago. They were forced to survive on unsafe water which caused health and sanitation issues. Their only water source was miles away and they had to walk for hours, braving the elements to fetch water for their daily use.
When UCI installed a new handpump on their doorstep, their lives changed for the better overnight. They now have clean, uncontaminated water for themselves, their crops and their animals and, Alhamdulillah, fewer health issues.
Talking to a member of UCI’s team, Baksh said, “the past few years have been very difficult for my family, especially for the younger kids. I felt terrible that I did not have the resources to provide my children with such a necessity but this help from Ummah Charity International has changed that.
My children finally have access to clean water without having to walk miles in the sun. My prayers will always be with Mufti Abdul Wahab, Ummah Charity International and everyone who donated towards helping us.”
