Qurbani is the festival of sacrifice that Muslims all over the world demonstrate commemorating the ultimate sacrifice of Nabi Ibrahim (AS) and Nabi Ismail (AS) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
It is one of the most religious rituals of Islam that every financially stable Muslim needs to perform for the sake of Allah the Almighty. In Qurbani Muslims are to remember the unity of Allah, and His blessings upon us. The ritual of slaughtering takes place after offering the Eid Prayer mostly on the 10th Zil Hajj of the Islamic Calendar and the two days following it.
Ummah Charity International has been carrying out Qurbani projects since 2014, but this year was different from the past years due to Covid-19 pandemic! Recently, thousands of families have lost their income because of the global pandemic and the resulting lockdown. This Project benefits people in ways that for those offering the sacrifice will find it easy to buy the animal through safe means of donation. Along with this the needy will receive sufficient amounts of meat in a safe manner. Moreover people in our communities who were not able to receive fresh meat got food packs through our cooked food project this Eid.
This years Qurbani Project was very successful as there were 51,888 beneficiaries and 6486 families who had the opportunity to have safe meat during the Corona Virus crisis.
When families receive Qurbani meat annually it brings a real sense of hope for them and their families which gives them a chance to celebrate eid along with millions of other Muslim brothers and sisters. This is a blessing specially for those who get an opportunity to eat meat after a whole year!
Our religion rewards us at even smiling at someone, working for the betterment of the vulnerable communities would definitely reward us in all ways. We thank all of you who constantly support us in this good cause, we aim to continue our hard work with the help of all our donors. May Allah accept our Qurbani this Eid-ul-Adha!
