Build Your Palace In Janah

Since its initiation, our Maktab project has seen 450 children being given comprehensive Islamic education and the donor community can share the collective reward of sponsoring a Maktab.

The goal of our Maktab project has always been to educate children in the way of Islamic and secular education. Many of the children who enter our Maktab education program come from backgrounds where there isn’t even enough money for proper food, clothing or shelter. The 2 Maktabs that we have installed enrol 200 students each and we teach both modern and Islamic subjects such as English, Maths, Urdu, Tajweed, Fiqh, Hadith, reading and writing under the supervision of qualified Qaris. The Chairman of UCI, Mufti Abdul Wahab, regularly visits the Maktabs and interacts with the students.

Our Maktab are in the following areas of Pakistan:

Ibrahim Hyderi, Gothki and more

IMPORTANCE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION

Islam makes it mandatory on each and every individual to strive towards betterment, for a complete knowledge of religious obligations as well as the requirements of the world. It is the duty of all those who are aware that Islam aims at establishing a tolerant, educated society based on the values of social welfare and betterment, to make this a possibility. By teaching them about faith and morals, we motivate them to achieve their goals and dreams for their futures. Learning, reading and reciting Quran has its own value in Islam.

IMPACT OF YOUR DONATION

Your sponsored child benefits in many ways and for many years: students acquire the basic teachings of the Quran and learn the principles and characteristics of the Holy book; children develop advanced memorisation skills which can help them become high achievers in other academic studies; the students are provided with a peaceful and spiritual learning environment under the supervision of qualified Ulama and teachers; they are provided free meals; children are taught the value of academics and the pursuit of knowledge; they can form new friendships with their peers and improve their social skills through learning nasheeds.

ZUBAIR AHMAD’S SON

"When I was younger, I didn't know the downside of not growing up with an education. This was because I grew up among my six brothers and five sisters amidst the poverty and suffering of rural Pakistan. In fact, I'd never had much of a childhood, since I'd grown up engaging in manual labour for scraps of money instead of gaining an education, Islamic or otherwise.

Now that I’m older, I realise its importance. Education has the power to turn someone’s life around and that’s why I’m grateful to UCI for giving my son such opportunities. I didn’t want my son to go through the same difficulties that I had experienced as a child; I wanted him to build a future for himself and become a successful individual. It pains me to admit this, but I want him to live the life I never had. He’s much happier now, and he’s made friends and he has progressed sufficiently. UCI’s Maktab has instilled confidence in my son that hadn’t been there before. This Maktab has truly changed my son Zubair’s life, and I know that this facility will continue to change the lives of children who come from the same circumstances as us.”
