Feed a Family This Ramadan

This Ramadan, can you give your Zakat to feed the needy in some of the world’s poorest communities? For just £50, you can support a family tackling hunger, with a food pack that will sustain them throughout the blessed month.

Ummah Charity International (UCI) provides food aid to people living in food poverty. Since the launch of our project, in 2014, we’ve distributed over 15,470 food packs in some of the most impoverished communities across Pakistan.

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘Feed the hungry, visit the sick and set free the captives.’ (Bukhari)

Mehmood Ali Says Thank You!

A wage worker and father of six, Mehmood Ali has lived with poverty throughout his life, but he found the last couple of years very difficult due to the pandemic. He told team UCI how rising prices and a lack of employment opportunities during the pandemic made his day-to-day life incredibly stressful.

“With Ramadan starting, I was extremely stressed as prices of food tend to get even higher. This help from UCI could not have come at a better time. I cannot explain how much it reduces my burden. I do not constantly have to think about what my family will break their fast with. I want to thank Mufti Abdul Wahab and Ummah Charity International for this help. I will always pray for the people who donated to help me and my family.”

Please support a family like Mehmood’s with a food pack this Ramadan. A donation of £50 will mean they have enough food to sustain them throughout the blessed month.

Feed the Hungry this Ramadan

Providing people with food is one of the best forms of charity according to the Prophet (PBUH).

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘The best of you are those who feed others.’ (Musnad Ahmad)

Your donations towards our food distribution project are a life-line to people living with hunger. Here’s how you help:

  • Children are given a hot meal daily and no longer have to beg for food. They return to school and can achieve their academic goals.
  • With malnutrition rates decreases, the overall health of poor communities improves.
  • Families are encouraged to eat meals with one another, fostering closer family ties and instilling positivity and optimism.
