"“Save yourself from hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity.” – Sahih Bukhari "
Poverty is not an accident, it can be overcome. Poverty is not natural, it can be beaten. And finally, poverty is not the end, because when people work together, it can be defeated. Poverty is no stranger to developing countries, such as Pakistan, Somalia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Palestine; it is one of the greatest natural predators which mankind has had to face in the past, is continuing to face in the present, and if we do not take action, will continue to face in the future. Poverty leaves people victims of homelessness and hopelessness, as well as hunger, disease, and malnutrition.
After having observed this issue, Ummah Charity International realised that every large venture has to start somewhere, and so we created our ‘Feed a Family’ Project, targeted especially for large families, widows and families for whom there is no breadwinner. During the year, UCI has been successful in distributing over 1000 food packs which contain items such as flour, rice, oil, sugar, dates, cereals, spices, powder milk, lentils and juice. One food pack for a family is sufficient for an entire month; 30 days which a family does not need to worry about where their next meal will come from.
You can also be a part of this project by making a contribution of £50.00 for a food pack; this donation will act as a barrier to ending this seemingly endless cycle of poverty which people have to go through.
One food pack at a time will help to rebuild the lives that have been destroyed at the hands of poverty. Make your contribution today.
