"The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Give food to the hungry, pay a visit to the sick and release (set free) the one in captivity (by paying his ransom).""
There are people battling hunger throughout the world; hunger brought on through things such as war, famine, natural disasters or lack of effective healthcare. Hunger then ensures that people are trapped inside a web of grueling poverty which may lead to malnutrition, illness and in the worst-case scenario: even death.
Battling hunger is not just about starvation, it is about the anxiety experienced when people do not know where their next meal will come from. Will the food be scavenged from the garbage? Will they find a piece of bread in rubbish dumps to share between a family of four? These people rely on hope and prayers to find something to appease the emptiness of their stomachs when really, they should be relying on people like us, who have the luxury of not going to bed hungry.
That is why Ummah Charity International created the Cooked Food Project, where we provide fresh, nutritious and warm meals for such people, in an attempt to end starvation in such areas; in an attempt to end hunger for large families, single mothers, and orphaned children.
Your donation of only £50.00 towards a cooked meal can make a difference and contribute towards the greater cause of fighting against hunger. People around the world need you, it is your job to be there for them.
