"The whole world is a provision, and the best object of the world is the pious women."
One of the reasons why females are not able to become a better part of the society and the economy is that they are victims of poverty and discrimination. A high majority of girls leave their schools to work and earn for their families, look after siblings, go to fetch water or take care of their homes; which leaves them uneducated and ultimately, they become illiterate. This is the point where Ummah Charity International intervenes with our commitment towards ending the struggle for women. We promote equal opportunities and we have seen a positive impact not only in the women themselves but their families and communities.
Ummah Charity International has implemented a women empowering skill development project to help such women with stitching, designing and tailoring skills under the mentorship of a skilled female instructor. The purpose of this course primarily focuses on generating a dignified income, thus establishing their own small business unit. This will lead the deprived and marginalised females to an improved financial standard of living.
At the end of the three-month course we aim to increase their morale by presenting these women with certificates, new sewing machines and the equipment needed for a kick-start to a new business set up, but above all, we provide them with our support and encouragement. Our volunteers also make follow-up visits to their homes.
Sponsor a woman for £150, which will include three months of training and a new sewing machine.
